The MoU was signed by Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Port & Customs Ajman, and on behalf of Hutchison Ports by Andy Tsoi, Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa Division at Hutchison Ports.
Global container terminal operator, Hutchison Ports has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Port & Customs Ajman for the expansion and development of Ajman Port.
The signing of the joint investment programme, expected to be worth AED 1 billion, was witnessed by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council.
Under the terms of the MoU, a comprehensive 15-year development plan will be drawn up. This initiative aims to enhance performance, operational efficiency and safety standards, while also supporting the digital transformation of Ajman Port.
The long term vision includes efforts to attract new international shipping lines, introduce new AI-powered port management systems and integrate advanced technologies to enhance cargo handing speeds, as well as boost overall port competitiveness in the UAE and wider Gulf region.
